Over the last few weeks, children from Alsager Highfields Primary have been involved in a design technology workshop after school with Mr W Potts at Alsager School. They have been designing and making bird boxes and wind chimes. The children have thoroughly enjoyed it, their attitude has been fantastic and I’m sure you will agree, the finished products are superb. Well done to all involved and a great example of how schools across the Trust working together.

PSHE - Family discussion, by Mrs Muddy
Date: 11th Nov 2022 @ 9:24pm
Today in PSHE our children in year 3 discussed and explored different kinds of families with Mrs Henshall. There were some great discussions and the children all showed kindness, thoughtfulness and curiosity. We watched the Disney 2021 Christmas advert where a step family come together and then the Disney 2022 one which shows a year later and a new family addition. We also watched the John Lewis advert where a family are welcoming a new foster child into their lives. The children agreed that all families are different and that as long as we care for each other it doesn’t matter what they look like

School Council Meeting, by Mrs Muddy
Date: 14th Oct 2022 @ 8:31pm
Today our School Council representatives met with Mrs Henshall. They discussed the charities that are important to them and the children in their classes. We will be voting to agree which charities we would like to support this year, it was really lovely to hear of so many charities that our children are aware of and are keen to suport. Some of them included Cancer Research, Dog Trust, Alsager Foodbank, Children's hospitals, Donna Louise, Sponsor a child and Cheshire Downs Syndrome. We are always so proud of how thoughtful and caring the children are at Alsager Highfields, considering their immediate community and beyond. The children have already begun to speak to their classes to ask for suggestions for improvements for our school and they have lots of ideas that they are writing to Mrs Woollam about. We will share our exciting developments with you as we confirm our plans.
Kindness, by Mrs Muddy

Last week Jonny, the youth worker from Wesley Place came into school and delivered an assembly on kindness and looking after our neighbours. This tied in really well with our upcoming Harvest Celebrations. As always the children listened brilliantly and were able to share lots of ways that they look after each other at home and at school.

Harvest Celebration, by Mrs Muddy
Date: 10th Oct 2022 @ 6:44pm
Today we shared our annual Harvest celebration at Alsager Highfields. Pete Howard from the Community Church came in to share our celebrations and to give thanks, we sang our Harvest Samba for him and he was very impressed with our singing! Our School Council children took our Harvest donations to the Alsager Food Bank today where they found out a little bit about how they support our families in Alsager and the surrounding areas. The children represented themselves brilliantly, they were polite and asked great questions. We would like to say a HUGE thank you to all of our families who were able to donate to such an important service in our area - thank you.
