Our School

The Catchment Area

The school is situated at the heart of Alsager and the catchment comprises of council and privately owned housing.

The School

The current school opened in October 1988 and was extended in September 2012. The main building had significant building works undertaken during 2021-23 and this included the installation of a new fire alarm system, a large part of the roof replaced and the replacement of a large part of the exterior fence. The school is on two sites and the  Annexe building is situated opposite the main school. This building houses our Reception class and has had and continues to have a schedule of improvements. These include re-configuring the layout of the building to include a staff room, remodelling the old year 1 classroom to make one large open space and improvements to both the indoor and outdoor environments.  A privately owned nursery and pre-school share the Annexe site. Hoppers was opened in 2005 and as well as offering nursery provision also runs wrap around care in the form of a before and after school club. Alsager Highfields is fortunate to have extensive school grounds which include; a sports field, an astroturf pitch, a daily mile track, an outdoor classroom, play areas, a pond and a woodland area.

The philosophy of the school is to ensure that all children are nurtured and encouraged to be the very best they can be. We strive for our pupils to leave our care as well-rounded individuals with a thirst for learning, who are fully equipped to start the next phase of their education. The school is part of the Cornovii Trust and this Trust consists of two secondary schools - Alsager High School and Brine Leas, as well as four primaries -  Alsager Highfields, Audlem St James, Weston and recently Pear Tree Primary School.
