Our School

Our SchoolThe Catchment Area

The school is pleasantly situated in the centre of Alsager and the catchment comprises council and privately owned housing.

The School

The school opened in October 1988 and integrates general teaching, practical and home-bay areas, a library and a computer suite. An extra classroom and new offices were added in September 2012, which has allowed the old office area to be used for small teaching groups. Situated alongside the Main School is an Annexe building of traditional design which contains four Infant classes . A double mobile classroom housing the Hoppers playgroup was opened in 2005. The school grounds include a sports field, Astroturf, an outdoor classroom, play areas, a pond and a woodland area.

The philosophy of the school aims to encourage the values, attitudes and beliefs, which promote a happy, caring and purposeful community where each person is valued. The school is part of Alsager Community Trust, a group of schools comprising our feeder secondary school and other local primaries.

Organisation of Staff

Presently there are 230 children on roll.  There are 8 classes.

Children are organised in chronological groups.  Co-operative teaching and sharing of personal expertise is encouraged and there is an ongoing dialogue between the staff and governors to facilitate staff and curriculum development.
