Each year, we invest significantly into our school library, ensuring children have access to high quality texts regardless of their reading ability and are able to develop a love of reading both fiction and non-fiction books. Our fabulous team of pupil librarians ensure that books are organised for easy access and that both our fiction and non-fiction libraries are simply a lovely place to be!.We firmly believe that reading is the foundation block to learning, enabling children access their learning and expand their horizons. We are continually expanding the books available, creating a reading spine of high quality texts that the children will have access to during their time at Alsager Highfields.
Attached below are lists of books appropriate and recommended for each year group; they serve as useful starting points for children wishing to expand their reading repertoire. That said, many of our staff members are avid readers and are always happy to recommend!
