Below is a summary of assessment results for 2022-2023
EYFS
Achievement in the EYFS is measured through the Early Learning Goals (ELGs) and pupils who have met the ELG in the prime areas of learning (personal, social and emotional development; physical development and communication and language) as well as the specific areas of literacy and mathmatics are judged to have attained a good level of development (GLD).
The chart below shows the proportion of Reception puils who achieved GLD at Highfields, together with the local and national comparison.

Year 1 Phonics
At the end of year 1, pupils take the phonics screening check which measures a child's ability to recognise the sounds taught through phonic schemes.

Year 2 Phonics
Pupils who do not meet the pass mark in the phonics screening check at the end of year 1 are expected to retake the check in year 2. For Highfields, this applied to 4 pupils last year, 3 of which were new to school.

KS1 Attainment
Children in year 2 are assessed in Reading, Writing and Maths. Those children who meet all the criteria are deemed to be working at the national standard. Further to this, a proprtion of children are deemed to be working above the national standard. A proportion of school have their standards moderated by the Local Authority at both KS1 and for writing in KS2. In 2023 Alsager Highfields KS1 were not selected for moderation, however judgements were moderated within the Trust and by the headteacher, who was part of the Local Authority Moderating Team for KS1 in 2022 and 2023.

KS2 Attainment
Children in year 6 take externally marked tests in Reading, Maths and Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling (GPS). Those children who meet all the criteria are deemed to be working at the national standard. Further to this, a proprtion of children are deemed to be working above the national standard.They are also teacher assessed in Writing. In 2022 our writing was selected to be externally moderated by Cheshire East Local Authority. All of our judgements with regards to writing were deemed to be accurate.
