Last week we welcomed Kathryn and Becky from SCIES, safeguarding children in education settings team, to review our safeguarding practice throughout school. They met with Mrs Henshall, our Designated Safeguarding Lead and they spoke to many of our children including their lovely year 5 tour guides, our School Council and Junior Safeguarding Team, lots of adults in school and our parents too. At the end of the day, they spoke to our leadership team, Mrs Woollam, Mrs Henshall and Mrs Dyde to share their thoughts about the day and how we can continue to improve our safeguarding practice in school.
They said they were very impressed with our safeguarding processes, that we ensure our children stay safe and that they are well cared for and listened to. They also said that our children were articulate, thoughtful and kind with wonderful manners which they observed throughout the day as they spent time in every area of our school. We already know this but it is always lovely when someone else visits our school and recognises this too. Well done to everyone for such fantastic feedback!

SEND, by Mrs Muddy

Date: 8th Jan 2023 @ 10:26pm

Happy new year everyone!
Our SEND coffee afternoons continue into our Spring term. As requested the dates were sent out for the whole year back in June but we thought it would be useful to send them out again as a reminder.
These sessions are an informal opportunity to chat and have a cuppa in a relaxed environment. To link up with parents and chat to our senco. Some of our parents/carers who have attended our previous sessions have emailed to say how useful it was to meet in a relaxed atmosphere with the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences. Previously we have had guests from the Early Help Team, Mrs Walker, Senco from Alsager High school and our SEND governor,  Vanessa Howard, our safeguarding governor and the Emotionally Healthy Schools team which has been really useful for parents to chat with. We have also invited CEIAS and Visyon so hope they will be able to attend soon.
The dates for the Spring and Summer term are;
Spring 1 Tuesday 17th January 2pm
Spring 2 Monday 13th March 2pm
Summer 1 Tuesday 16th May 2pm
Summer 2 Wednesday 5th July 2pm
Please email senco@alsagerhighfields.cheshire.sch.uk to book your space on our next session. We really look forward to seeing you at our next one. Thank you
