Mrs Wynne's Class 2024 - 2025

Mrs Wynne

Pinehurst Primary School : Year 3: Cedar and Hazel

Summer 1

We kindly ask that you ensure your child arrives at school on time, ready and prepared for the day ahead. Punctuality is crucial as it sets the tone for the day and enables our students to start their learning at 8.45am.

Moreover, please remember to label all your child's belongings, including their uniform, bags, and lunchboxes. This helps us ensure that lost items can be easily returned to their rightful owners. We appreciate your assistance in this matter.

We value open communication and are here to assist you in any way we can. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us through Seesaw.

General information:

The school day will begin at 8.40am and finish at 3.15pm.

Reading:

Please continue to encourage your children to read at home at least 4 times per week, this is apart of the school homework policy. It would be fantastic if you could continue to sign your child's diary at the end of the week once they have read 4 times. Reading diaries will be checked weekly when your child has their Guided Reading Session.  Please remember children can quiz at home the using the accelerated reader link. Sports Day 20.05.25          9.15am start

Class trip 21.05.25

Year 3 pupils will embark on an exciting trip to Wrexham to visit a Roman Fort (Wednesday 21st May). To ensure a smooth start to the day, please note the following details:

  • Arrival Time: Children must arrive at school by 8:30am, as we will depart promptly. I will be at the school gate from 8:25am to welcome them.
  • Outdoor Activities: The trip will take place entirely outdoors, meaning children should be prepared for all weather conditions.

What Your Child Will Need:

  • A sunhat, raincoat, and sturdy footwear for walking on rocky paths and outdoor activities.
  • Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing—please no school uniform. As activities may be muddy, ensure they wear clothes that can get dirty. Avoid sandals, skirts, dresses and crop tops.
  • A waterproof jacket and sun cream (either applied before arrival or packed for reapplication during the day).
  • A water bottle to stay hydrated.
  • Children may bring their usual school bag to carry their belongings.

Thank you for your support. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via Seesaw or speak to me at the door on Monday or Tuesday.

In English this week we will be continuing with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The children loved reading this book so it will be great to now complete our English work based on the story. This week we will be continuing with speech. We will look at some conversations in the book between Grandpa Joe and Charlie.

Spelling shed is a great site that will help with extra spelling practise. Any extra practise is really beneficial.  https://www.spellingshed.com/en-gb/
