Mrs Wynne's Class - Year 3 2025 - 2026
Mrs Wynne
Autumn 1
Hello and welcome to Year 3! I hope you’ve had a brilliant summer and are feeling refreshed and ready for all the fun and learning we’ve got planned. On our class page, you’ll be able to see what we’ll be covering this term, homework tasks, and stay up to date with any key information. I’m really excited to get started!
We value open communication and are here to assist you in any way we can. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us through Seesaw.
General information:
As a reminder, our school day begins at 8:45 a.m. and finishes at 3:15 p.m. We would ask that your child arrive at school on time, ready and prepared for the day ahead. Arriving at school at 8:40 is a great way to start the day.
Please remember to label all your child's belongings, including their uniform, bags, and lunchboxes. This helps us ensure that lost items can be easily returned to their rightful owners. We appreciate your assistance in this matter.
Reading:
Please continue to encourage your children to read at home at least 4 times per week, this is apart of the school homework policy. It would be fantastic if you could continue to sign your child's diary at the end of the week once they have read 4 times. Reading diaries will be checked weekly when your child has their Guided Reading Session. Please remember children can quiz at home the using the accelerated reader link.

English
This term in English, our main focus is on Grammar. This will involve, over the next few weeks, looking at different word classes and sentence structure.
Guided reading will continue in small groups, allowing us to focus on developing a range of reading skills and strategies through targeted questioning and discussion. When not working directly with an adult, children will have independent reading time followed by a quiz to check their understanding.
The children have completed their Star reading test and their level is in their reading diary.
Maths
Each day, our Maths lessons begin with a focus on improving our fluency in arithmetic and times tables knowledge.
In Maths we follow MNP, and to being we will be focusing on place value, recognising and writing numbers up to 1000.
On Thursdays Year 3 will be taught by Mrs Millichap and they will be focusing on the unit Time.
