Nurture, Believe, Achieve

Welcome to Alsager Highfields Primary School

‘Nurture, Believe, Achieve’

Welcome from Mrs Woollam: Headteacher

Here at Highfields, we strongly believe in the African proverb ‘It takes a village to raise a child’ and pride ourselves in being at the heart of our community. We understand how vital  home/school partnerships are, and are committed to working alongside parents and carers, in order to ensure that all involvement with the school is positive and that pupils get an enriching educational journey.

At Highfields we value and nurture every child so that individuals reach their true potential in every area of the curriculum. Our ultimate goal is for children to leave Highfields as confident, well-rounded individuals, with a thirst for learning. We celebrate that every child is unique and has different strengths and qualities, and welcome all pupils into our happy and nurturing environment. We provide a learning environment where children take a pride in their work, are encouraged to make mistakes and develop resilience and independence.

Our school is committed to delivering a high quality, cross-curricular curriculum, with quality literary texts at the heart of our provision. We recognise the relationship between attainment and enjoyment of reading, and aim to develop positive attitudes towards reading whilst fostering a love of books. As well as being committed to ensuring pupils leave Highfields competent in the core areas of reading, writing and maths, we recognise the importance The Arts play in creating happy pupils with self-belief and a healthy mental wellbeing. We therefore ensure all pupils have access to a wide range of experiences.

Having recently become part of the The Cornovii Trust, we are reaping the benefits from working in partnership with 5 other cheshire-based schools and are excited by the opportunities these partnerships offer.
