PE Lessons
Next week, we start our physical education curriculum. As stated in the July newsletter and in our Return to School Guide we would ask that the children attend school in their PE kit for the full school day. This will maximise curriculum time without the need for getting changed in already small classrooms. Please note your child’s PE days from the table below.

Parent/Carer Transition Meetings
In order to aid transition into your child’s new class the teaching staff will host a Meet and Greet meeting via Zoom. These meetings are to give parents/carers a greater insight into the curriculum areas that will be taught, the new routines of particular classes i.e timetable, homework cycle etc and plans for the rest of the academic year. These meetings will take place over the next two weeks on the dates below.

School Website: Continuing the learning journey at home.
As of Monday 7th of September, the class teachers will upload the termly curriculum overview onto the school website. In addition, the class teachers will be updating their class page of the school website with details of the learning that is planned on a weekly basis. The purpose is for parents/carers to have up to date information about the knowledge, skills and experiences their children are receiving at school so that you can support learning at home. We hope this weekly overview will also stimulate discussion as to what your child is learning at school.
In addition, each class page will also have a section entitled ‘ Remote Learning ‘, this will have all the work your child can complete at home if they are unable to come to school ( for example, if they are self isolating , shielding or quarantining etc ). Remote learning for absent children will not be e mailed home to you by their teacher, rather it is for you to access it directly from their class page.
Communication between school and home
Should parents/carers have any concerns regarding your child’s welfare or educational progress you should, in the first instance, direct your questions to the class teacher. Due to the Covid restrictions we recommend that parents/carers e-mail the school office at the following address, [email protected] where your e-mail will be acknowledged and directed to the appropriate teacher. Following this, you may wish to speak to the departmental leaders of Mrs Henshall for key stage 1 [email protected] or Mrs Dyde for key stage 2 [email protected] Mr Middebrook is the acting Headteacher of the school and is responsible for the day to day leadership and management of the school. Best wishes
Carl Leech
