Pre-school - Mrs Ward 2025 - 2026

Welcome to Little Acorns Pre School

Hello everyone and welcome to Little Acorns Pre School website page. 

We are really proud of how well the children have settled in. They are all an absolute joy to have in our classroom.

We will use Seesaw to communicate any important information, days or events. Please feel free to contact any of us via Seesaw and we will respond in our working day. 

Our school day begins at 9am and ends at 3pm. Our snack time is 10:15am, the children are offered fresh fruit, milk or water. We can provide drinks at lunchtime but please send your child with a water bottle for during the day.

We wear slippers in the classroom, please feel free to bring some in to leave in school. As the weather changes, please make sure your child has coats, hats, gloves, wellies as we do go out in all weathers.

Our PE days are Wednesday and Friday, please make sure your child is wearing trainers on these days, thankyou :)

Our topic for this half term is 'celebrations' and we will be reading lots of stories and doing lots of activities based on this theme across the ciriculum. 

Our literacy programme is write dance - this is a pre-writing programme that supports young childrens physical development. Each week is a different story, dance and material to mark make with which we will video and pop on Seesaw.

In maths we will be looking at matching, grouping, basic 2d shapes, numbers to 3 and simple repeating patterns. 

We deliver concept cat, which introduces the children to new vocabulary and it is taught in a structured and engaging manner using songs, stories and play based activites. The word of the week will often be on Seesaw if you want to discuss it at home.

We also do letters and sounds Phase 1 phonics -

This term there will be lots of practice for our nativity 'simply the nativity' this will take place on Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th at 9:15am in the main school hall. Tickets will be available soon.

The children will also have the opportunity to get involved in lots of festive activities and play this half term, it's a very exciting one!
