Mr Golds' Class 2020 - 2021
Welcome to the Summer Term!
I am sure you will all join with me in welcoming our new headteacher Mrs Woollam to the school. All of the staff are very excited for the future working with her for the good of the children at the school.
We are set for a very busy final term. The children will be able to cover all of the maths curriculum by focusing on key lessons. The class will cover topics such as fractions, money, and time.
The children will continue looking at our class book The Highland Falcon Thief. We will be producing lots of excellent writing based around this novel.
PE will continue to be on Wednesdays and Fridays. The children can continue to wear their PE kits to school on these days.
Homework is being set each Monday. You will see the button at the top of the page where you will find this week's tasks.
Welcome to Mr Golds's class page. Here you will find key information to help you this year.
We will be looking at narratives this week. We will examine how to use direct speech and write a conversation between two characters. We will be finishing our book The Highland Falcon Theif this week which has got the thumbs up from the class.
The class will be continuing to look at fractions this week. We will be adding fractions and maklng whole numbers from two fractions.
The class will be using the 2Animate program to create Cracking Contractions based on Wallace and Gromitt.
PE will take place on Wednesday and Friday. On Wednesday, Mrs Riley will be teaching the children the skills needed to compete in athletics. On Friday, I will be teaching the children to play tennis. The children can come to school in their PE kits on these days.
The class are going to be taking part in an outdoor music festival later this year! Details will be released soon. The children will be learning rock and soul songs ready for this event.
The class learning the French words connected with food this week.
The class wll begin to look at the Mayans this week.
Here are some key points that you will need to know for this year year.
There is a big change within the school regarding PE this year. Your child will be able to come to school and leave school wearing their PE kit on their PE days. My class will be doing PE on Wednesdays and Fridays so please send your child into school wearing their PE kit. The correct PE kit consists of-
A yellow top, black shorts and pumps/trainers. For outdoor PE kits, please have tracksuits or jogging bottoms and long sleeved tops.
Your child will be given a brand new reading diary on Monday 14th September. Reading at home is vitally important to the education of every child. Can you please encourage your child to read with you at least 4 times per week.
